Arasan Rural Development Society (ARDS) is a Non Governmental Organisation doing yeoman service to the poor and the disadvantaged since 1988.


It aims at empowering the community, specifically women and girls from poor and marginalised communities, to lead a life with dignity and improved living standards.

It works in Southern Districts of Tamil Nadu, India, providing day care to kids, supplementary education to children, counselling services to families, rehabilitation of persons with different abilities, Self Help Groups, skill training and micro credit to poor women for income generation and poverty alleviation.

It supports and cares abandoned children, distressed women and senior citizens from poor families providing boarding, accommodation and health care at free of cost.

It is working with and for disadvantaged people, specifically children, youth, women, landless agricultural labourers, small and marginal farmers, rural artisans, and senior citizens.

ARDS welcomes you to participate in our development programmes by making donations and/or sponsorships. You can also work as a volunteer to help the poor and the needy in a participatory development process.
